Learning new skills is my hobby and my passion. There is a question at the back of my mind that if we introduce practical professional skills to the kids at a very early age so do you think they are going to achieve their targets in a better way and will they be more successful in earning bread and butter for their family? But here there is another point worth mentioning that skills should match with their personality and their natural aptitude. But what do you think whose responsibility is it to identify and devise new skill experiments for kids? What would be the source of knowledge? I guess internet can be a great source to learn new skills. I think it is the responsibility of the parents to think of the skills that they feel their kids will take interest in and once learned can help them to become a very successful man. Believe me there are many things that I feel I should have learnt at an earlier age and if I would have learnt those motor skills at that time then they must have given me a lot of benefit in my life. So if we have the awareness and knowledge of these things then should we let our kids make the same mistakes? So new creative ideas and skills should be introduced to the kids and parents should observe the kids potential and his natural inclination and should try to get him through all the difficulties related with that field in which a child is taking interest. Believe me motivation and encouragement are must for the child to really make a difference in his chosen field. Secondly we badly need to revise our curriculum in our schools and universities. I am myself an Electronic Engineer and I feel that the things we study in our academic life we never adopt them in our professional life. This is a dilemma and I wonder why it is neglected all across the globe. I feel the things taught in our colleges and universities are very bookish and we seldom practice those things in our professional life. Skills always need some time to get polished so my point is that if skills are introduced at an early age and a kid continues with that skill in his academic life then he will get ample time to make it an asset for himself and this might become a source of good earning for him.
